Peristaltic pump hoses, as consumables of peristaltic pumps, may encounter various damages during use. So what are the causes of these damages?

1. The cause of damage can be seen from the shape of the damaged hose: the hose is completely flattened, loses its ability to rebound, the wall thickness of the hose becomes thinner, and the surface is severely worn. This phenomenon is usually caused by the runner being stuck, impurities on the surface of the peristaltic pump pressure block contacting the pump tube and the runner, and the speed being too high. After the runner of the peristaltic pump head is stuck, the runner of the peristaltic pump directly scrapes the peristaltic pump hose, which will increase the friction on the surface of the hose, causing the surface temperature of the hose to rise very high and wear the surface of the hose. If it is too high, Temperature will also cause the hose to lose its elasticity. In extreme cases, the temperature generated exceeds 140 degrees and may even cause the hose to melt and deform.
Solution: Pay attention to check whether the peristaltic pump head runner is running flexibly; pay attention to cleaning the surface of the pump head pressure tube; appropriately reduce the speed of the peristaltic pump.
2. Determine the cause of damage from the size and shape of the damaged peristaltic pump hose: Peristaltic pump hoses may transport different liquids, and some liquids will corrode and dissolve certain hoses. If we see that the peristaltic pump hose becomes brittle, hard, loses elasticity, discolors, swells, breaks, etc., it is usually because the hose cannot transport the liquid.
Solution: Look for pump tubing materials that will not be corroded by the liquid you are transporting.
3. Look at the cause of damage to the peristaltic pump hose from the damaged breach: If the damaged peristaltic pump hose looks like a sharp cut like a knife, it is usually caused by the runner and flange of the peristaltic pump head. The edges are cut. The reason for this kind of damage is usually that the hose in the pump head is too long. When the peristaltic pump head is running, the hose rocks in the pump head and comes into contact with the flange edge of the runner. The flange edge constantly rubs and cuts the soft material. Tube. This damage process will be very fast, and it will usually be completely damaged in about ten minutes. Along with the damage of the pump pipe, you will also see a lot of hose slag produced in the pump.
